Actual production in 2024 exceeded the target of 710 million tons by 117%. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources stated that of the 2024 coal production, 555 million tons were exported, 233 million tons met domestic demand, and the remaining 48 million tons were inventory. Global total coal usage is approximately 8-8.5 billion tons, but the market circulating volume is about 1-1.5 billion tons. If export policies are tightened, Indonesian coal will have a systemic impact. Compared to 2023, coal production in 2024 increased by 7.8%. Of the 775 million tons produced in 2023, 518 million tons were exported, 213 million tons were used domestically, and 44 million tons were inventory.
