Indonesia's first FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) industry alliance was officially inaugurated in Jakarta, marking the beginning of a comprehensive digital upgrade for Indonesia's traditional television industry. The alliance brings together mainstream Indonesian broadcast media, technology companies, and media organizations to establish a localized FAST industry ecosystem platform, helping traditional broadcasting complete its internet transformation and expand content distribution channels and business development models. The Indonesia FAST Media Alliance is jointly initiated by Coolita and the China International Communication Center (CICC), with membership covering top Indonesian public and private television stations, including TVRI, Metro TV, GARUDA TV, BTV, Jawa Pos Media, and JAKTV, while also bringing in Tencent Cloud as a core technology partner to achieve deep integration of local media resources and cutting-edge internet technology. This is also Indonesia's first authoritative industry alliance focused on the FAST sector.

The FAST model combines the viewing experience of traditional linear television with the distribution advantages of internet streaming, enabling free broadcasting through an advertising monetization model. It is currently the mainstream trend in the digital transformation of the global broadcasting industry. Broadcasting organizations worldwide are deploying FAST channels to reach smart TV users, revitalize local content resources, and create new digital content distribution systems and profit models.

The core goal of the newly established Indonesia FAST Media Alliance is to promote the adaptation of Indonesia's broadcasting industry to streaming media trends. Alliance members will collaborate on FAST channel construction, digital content distribution, and joint R&D of core technologies, while retaining the advantages of traditional free TV and addressing the industry's digital shortcomings. At the same time, the platform will open up cooperation channels between Indonesian media and the international market, helping local content go global and deepening cross-border media industry cooperation.

Coolita, one of the alliance's co-founders, operates a mature global smart TV platform with business coverage in over 100 countries and regions worldwide, surpassing 40 million global users, including more than 5 million local users in Indonesia. Its FAST platform offers over 1,000 free channels covering news, sports, films, and other diverse content, providing Indonesian broadcast media with a mature smart TV distribution channel. The alliance was established during a series of China-Indonesia youth cultural exchange activities. Industry representatives unanimously agreed that as audience viewing habits fully shift to smart TV, collaboration among media, technology providers, and content creators will become the core driving force for the iterative upgrade of Indonesia's television industry. As an open industry platform, the alliance will continue to expand in the future, attracting more content providers and ecosystem partners to improve Indonesia's local FAST industry ecosystem.
