Leapmotor, a Chinese new energy vehicle maker supported by Stellantis investment, has officially entered the Indonesian market, launching localized CKD assembly production to accelerate its Southeast Asian manufacturing expansion. Leapmotor showcased global models B10 and C10 at the 2026 Indonesia GIIAS auto show and announced its market debut in Indonesia. Leapmotor collaborated with Indonesia's Indomobil Group to implement localized KD assembly, with production undertaken by PT National Assemblers under Indomobil. The assembly plant went into operation in April this year, with the first batch of locally assembled B10 and C10 models expected to be delivered to Indonesian consumers in August. Leveraging two KD production bases in Malaysia and Indonesia, Leapmotor has become one of the few EV brands in Southeast Asia with two local assembly plants.

Indonesia imposes high import tariffs on complete vehicles, and localized production effectively reduces tariff costs while making it easier to meet the country's new energy vehicle incentive policy requirements. On the sales side, Leapmotor adopts the Stellantis brand showroom model, with vehicles sold alongside brands such as Jeep and Citroën; PT Indomobil National Distributor is responsible for local sales and channel development. The company plans to establish 50 sales and service outlets in Indonesia by the end of 2026. The B10 sedan and C10 SUV exhibited this time are Leapmotor's global strategic models. This entry into Indonesia is another achievement of the global cooperation between Leapmotor and Stellantis. Stellantis made a strategic investment in Leapmotor in 2023, and the two parties established a joint venture responsible for exports and sales outside China, helping Leapmotor share mature overseas channels.

Leapmotor's business has expanded to more than 40 countries, with over 2,000 stores and cumulative global deliveries exceeding 1.5 million units. The company plans to launch one new model annually for Indonesia and surrounding markets. Overseas markets have become an important growth pillar for Leapmotor, with the company targeting overseas sales to account for 20%-35% of total sales; this proportion has already approached 30% in the first half of the year. Data shows Leapmotor delivered 356,487 units in the first half, up 60.82% year-on-year; June deliveries reached 93,376 units, a year-on-year increase of 94.51%. The company's full-year target is 1 million units, requiring approximately 643,500 units to be delivered in the second half, with monthly sales needing to surpass the historical record.
