The Ministry of Investment and the Investment Coordinating Board met with several major Chinese electric vehicle companies to accelerate investment in Indonesia's EV ecosystem. During his visit to China, the Investment Minister met with companies such as BYD, Zhongwei New Materials, and CATL. This visit was to follow up on the investment status of three Chinese EV companies that have already invested in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance given to investors who have already invested in the country. The meeting discussed the acceleration plan for BYD's electric vehicle factory construction in Subang, West Java, capacity expansion, and its positive impact on the economy and employment. The factory is expected to become the largest automobile factory in ASEAN. In addition, the meeting discussed the investment development of Zhongwei New Materials in Indonesia and the plan to build a green technology industrial zone in North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi. The meeting with CATL highlighted the Indonesian government's commitment to accelerating the construction of the EV battery ecosystem, and currently CATL is working with Indonesian state-owned enterprises through a consortium to build a battery industry chain project.
