PT Kawasan Industri Nusantara (PT KINRA), a subsidiary of PTPN III, signed an investment agreement for the glove and medical equipment industry from China in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone in North Sumatra. This investment, valued at USD 297 million (approximately IDR 4-5 trillion), will focus on the development of the medical equipment industry and glove production. This is a follow-up to the visit of PTPN III's President to China in January 2025, and the cooperation aims to accelerate the development of Indonesia's health industry, create job opportunities, and enhance the competitiveness of the domestic medical equipment and health products industry. The Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone is one of the strategic industrial areas, offering various incentives and facilities to support investment. The development of the medical equipment and glove industry is expected to increase the investment attractiveness of the region and strengthen Indonesia's health industry ecosystem. The Director of PT KINRA welcomed this investment, stating that it will not only promote national economic development but also contribute to the health sector. PTPN III is committed to enhancing Indonesia's competitiveness in the international market through this investment, aligning with the government's vision to make Sei Mangkei an export-oriented, high-tech industrial growth center.
