At a regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 18, Lin Jian announced: Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of National Defense Dong Jun will co-chair the first ministerial meeting of the China-Indonesia Foreign and Defense Ministers' "2+2" Dialogue Mechanism in Beijing on April 21. Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Minister of Defense Sjafrie will visit China to attend the meeting. China and Indonesia are good neighbors across the sea and good partners sharing a common destiny. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia. Under the personal care of the heads of state of the two countries, China and Indonesia have established and launched the "2+2" dialogue mechanism between foreign and defense ministers. This is the first ministerial-level "2+2" mechanism established by China, reflecting the strategic nature and high level of China-Indonesia cooperation. Last year, Chinese leaders met twice with President Prabowo, agreeing to hold the first ministerial meeting of the "2+2" mechanism at an early date. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun will exchange views with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Defense Minister Sjafrie on bilateral relations, political security and defense cooperation between the two countries, and international and regional cooperation. China is willing to work with Indonesia to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, make good use of the "2+2" dialogue mechanism as an important platform, and continuously elevate friendly mutual trust and strategic coordination between the two countries to a higher level.
