The first ministerial meeting of defense ministers and foreign ministers of India and China was held in Beijing.

At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 18, Lin Jian announced that Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Foreign Minister, and Dong Jun, Minister of National Defense, will preside over the first ministerial meeting of the China-Indonesia Foreign Ministers and Defense Ministers "2+2" Dialogue Mechanism on April 21 in Beijing.Indonesian Foreign Minister Sukiyono and Defense Minister Shafri will come to China for the meeting. China and Indonesia are good neighbors across the sea and good partners sharing the same destiny. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. Under the personal concern of the heads of state of the two countries, China and India have established and launched the "2+2" dialogue mechanism between foreign ministers and defense ministers. This is the first ministerial-level "2+2" mechanism established by China, reflecting the strategic and high level of China-India cooperation. Last year, Chinese leaders met twice with President Prabowo and agreed to hold the first ministerial meeting of the "2+2" mechanism at an early date. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun will exchange views with Foreign Minister Sukiyono and Defense Minister Shafri on bilateral relations, political security and defense cooperation between the two countries, international and regional cooperation and other issues. China is willing to work with Indonesia to follow the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, make good use of the "2+2" dialog mechanism as an important platform, and promote the friendship and mutual trust between the two countries and strategic cooperation to a higher level.
