Indonesia's Electric Vehicle Subsidy Policy Remains Undecided

印尼电动汽车补贴政策仍未确定

The Ministry of Industry will coordinate with other ministries and agencies on the continuation of the subsidy for the purchase of electric cars, which was previously provided by the government as a Rp7 million subsidy for the purchase of cars, and which slumped in sales after the subsidy was removed. The Ministry of Industry said it is not possible to determine when the subsidies will be restored, and that the amount of subsidies and programs will be adjusted according to the country's financial situation. The previous subsidies were more effective in boosting electric vehicle sales, and the deputy industry minister said the subsidy policy is still moving forward, but other policy discussions including electric vehicle subsidies have been delayed due to President Donald Trump's policy of reciprocal tariffs, which requires the relevant ministries to prioritize negotiations with the United States.
