President Prabowo is scheduled to be in Bulungan, Kutai Timur, Kota Baru, Muara Enim,PALIThe project of downstream processing of coal into DME in six districts, namely Banyuasin and Banyuasin, with an investment of 164 trillion dong, is expected to create 34,800 jobs and is an important initiative of the government to reduce its dependence on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports. The above coal to DME project is part of the government's 18 downstream processing projects with a total investment of 618.13 trillion dong (about $38.63 billion), for which pre-feasibility studies have been completed.The 18 projects cover a wide range of fields, including eight projects in the mining sector with an investment of $20.1 billion, which is expected to create 104,974 jobs; $444.3 million in the agriculture sector, which is expected to create 23,950 jobs; $108 million in the marine and fisheries sector, which is expected to create 67,100 jobs; $250 million in the energy transition sector, which is expected to create 29,652 jobs; and $14.5 billion in energy security, expected to create 50,960 jobs. Overall the 18 projects are expected to create 276,636 jobs directly and indirectly.
List of 18 downstream processing projects:Aluminum smelter (bauxite) in Mempawah, West Kalimantan with an investment of 60 trillion rupiahs, expected to create 14,700 jobs; DME industry (downstream processing of coal) in 6 districts with an investment of 164 trillion rupiahs, expected to create 34,800 jobs; Bitumen industry in Buton, Southeast Sulawesi with an investment of 1.49 trillion rupiahs, expected to create 34,050 jobs; and East Nusa Tenggara Kupang manganese sulfate industry with an investment of Rp 3.05 trillion, which is expected to create 5,224 jobs; the stainless steel slag industry (nickel) in the Morowali industrial zone in Central Sulawesi with an investment of Rp 38.4 trillion, which is expected to create 12,000 jobs; the Gresik copper rod, wire, and tube industry (copper cathode) in East Java with an investment of Rp 19.2 trillion, which is expected to create 9,700 jobs; the Sarmi steel industry (iron ore) in Papua with an investment of 19 trillion rupiahs, which is expected to create 18,000 jobs; and the Kendawangan chemical grade alumina industry (bauxite) in West Kalimantan with an investment of 17.3 trillion rupiahs, which is expected to create 7,100 jobs.
West PapuaFakfak oleoresin industry (nutmeg) with an investment of 1.8 trillion rupiah and expected to create 1,850 jobs; Trans Kalimantan Timur (MBTK) Special Economic Zone in East Kalimantan with an investment of 3 trillion rupiah in the oleoresin-food industry (palm oil) and expected to create 4,800 jobs; Tayan Industrial Zone in Riau with an investment of 2.3 trillion rupiah in the coco, medium chain triglyceride ( MCT), coconut flour, and activated charcoal industries (coconut) with an investment of 2.3 trillion rupiah, which is expected to create 22,100 jobs; chlor-alkali plant industries (salt) in Aceh, East Kalimantan, East Java, South Sumatra, Riau, Banten, and East Nusa Tenggara with an investment of 16 trillion rupiah, which is expected to create 33,000 jobs; and tilapia fillet industries in Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java with an investment of 1 trillion rupiah, expected to create 27,600 jobs; Kupang carrageenan industry (seaweed) in East Nusa Tenggara with an investment of 212 billion rupiah, expected to create 1,700 jobs; oil refineries in several districts (including Lhokseumawe, Sibolga, etc.) with an investment of 160 trillion rupiah, expected to create 44,000 jobs; and oil refineries in several districts (including Lhokseumawe, Sibolga, etc.) oil storage tank investment of Rp 72 trillion, expected to create 6,960 jobs. Integrated solar modules (bauxite and silica) in Batang Industrial Estate, Central Java with an investment of Rp 24 trillion, which is expected to create 19,500 jobs; and bio-aviation coal industry (waste cooking oil) in Maranda, Cikarang, and Karawang Industrial Estates with an investment of Rp 16 trillion, which is expected to create 10,152 jobs.
