Indonesian companies invest over a trillion dollars in AI data centers

PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA), a company under the KMG Group, through its subsidiary PT Kuningan Mas Gemilang (KMG), has signed an agreement with PT LG Sinarmas Technology Solutions (LGSM) for the latter to build the SMX01 data center. The value of the project is 1.23 trillion rupiah (excluding taxes and other expenses).Positioned as an AI-ready data center, the project is located in Jakarta's business district and is scheduled to be operational in the second quarter of 2026. The data hall blank area is nearly 15,500 square meters, containing nine data halls with a capacity of 2,400 racks (up to 340 racks per data hall); the initial power capacity is 18 megawatts (MW), with the possibility of expansion to 60 MW. The scope of services covers colocation, hyperscale services with high power density rack requirements, and application scenarios such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. The project aims to capitalize on the growth opportunities in the digital market, help diversify revenue sources, and provide long-term stable contributions; enhance the quality of digital services, strengthen competitiveness, and expand market share in the field of high-standard data center services; and support the development of digital technology ecosystems, create added value for enterprises, and promote Indonesia as a center of technological transformation and innovation in Southeast Asia.
