Over 930 trillion rupiah invested by 1,690 companies building factories in Indonesia

Ministry of Industry data shows that as of August 2025, theA total of 1,690 enterprises are building production facilities across the country, with a total investment of 930 trillion dong (about $42.2 billion), which is expected to create 332,000 jobs.
The food industry is the most active in terms of investment, with 246 enterprises investing 50 trillion dongs, which will absorb 16,000 workers; 77 enterprises in the textile industry invested 5 trillion dongs, providing 14,000 jobs. Leather and footwear industry investment even exceeds the food industry, which is a combination of capital and labor-intensive areas.
It is expected to further strengthen Indonesia's position in the global supply chain in the future as projects come on stream.
