Indonesia Power (PLN IP), a subsidiary of Indonesia's national power utility PLN, and Indo ACWA Tenaga Saguling have jointly announced the official launch of the construction project of a 60 MW AC floating PV power plant located at the Saguling Reservoir in West Java province. The project is expected to generate more than 130 GWh of electricity annually, which will meet the electricity needs of about 50,000 households, while reducing carbon emissions by about 104,000 tons of CO2 per year.
The President of PLN IP said that the project is one of the "National Strategic Projects" identified in the Presidential Regulation and is one of the most important steps in Indonesia's progress towards the realization of the "National Strategic Project".Net-zero emissions target for 2060important initiatives. The project utilizesInternational standard environmental and social management systemsUtilizationFloating photovoltaic technologyIt not only reduces evaporation from the water surface, but also enhances the power generation efficiency of the PV panels through the low temperature environment. The Saguling Reservoir was chosen as the site for the power plant because of its stable and extensive waters, and the construction footprint is less than 5% of the reservoir's total area, so it will not affect the reservoir's role as aHydropower generation and irrigationThe main function of the
