Chinese auto brand Geely has officially commenced local assembly of its new electric vehicle EX2 in Indonesia. The vehicle was previously launched in November 2025 at a price of approximately IDR 200 million, with production handled by local partner HIM. This makes the EX2 the third model produced locally by Geely in Indonesia, following the Xingyue EM-i and EX5. Geely Indonesia's CEO stated that since pre-sales began in November 2025, orders for the EX2 have exceeded 1,000 units, with the official price to be announced soon. The model's local content level (TKDN) reaches 46.5%, and Geely will meet Indonesian market demand with global quality standards. He emphasized that Geely is not only advancing full vehicle local assembly but also strengthening the foundation of Indonesia's EV industry by enhancing manufacturing capabilities and deepening cooperation on core components. Notably, collaborating with local company Guoxuan High-Tech to supply EX2 battery cells is a key step in building a stable and sustainable EV industry chain. In terms of product safety, the EX2 is equipped with honeycomb battery technology (CTP) featuring Geely's battery safety system and a liquid cooling thermal management system, with all safety standards following Geely's global specifications. The production process utilizes the Geely Manufacturing Execution System (GMES) to ensure quality control; each vehicle must pass rigorous tests to verify the performance of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) under various road conditions. Additionally, Geely enhances local workforce capabilities through technical training and experience sharing. During the pre-sale period in November 2025, the EX2 Max version was pre-priced at IDR 299.9–273 million, and the Pro version at IDR 255.9–233 million.
