BYD Rises to Sixth Place Among Indonesia's Best-Selling Car Brands
In August 2024, the ranking of the top 10 best-selling four-wheeled vehicle brands in Indonesia changed, with BYD, which had only started selling a few months earlier, ranking sixth. BYD only sells electric vehicles in Indonesia. According to wholesale data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), its sales reached 2,940 units, the highest sales figure since Gaikindo began recording BYD's sales in June. Previously in July, BYD ranked ninth among the best-selling brands. However, in August, the Chinese brand climbed to sixth place, replacing regular brands such as Hino, Fuso, Isuzu, and Wuling.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), and CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. have agreed to jointly collaborate on developing railway facilities in Indonesia. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Qingdao, China by the Director of Strategic Planning and Facility Management of KAI, the Director of Development of PT INKA (Persero), and the President of CRRC Qingdao. The agenda was also witnessed by the Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the President Director of KAI, and the Chairman of CRRC Qingdao Sifang.

The Largest Land-Based Solar PV Project Constructed by Chinese Enterprises in Indonesia Officially Put into Operation
The largest land-based solar photovoltaic project in Indonesia, the Karawang 100 MW solar PV project, built by a Chinese enterprise, was officially handed over for use on August 28. The project is located in West Java Province, covering a total area of about 80 hectares, with a planned DC installed capacity of 100.78 MW. It is jointly invested by the Batam branch of Indonesia's State Electricity Company and Aruna, an energy investment company under the Salim Group. China Power Construction Hubei Engineering Co., Ltd. is the general contractor for the project. The project has provided thousands of local jobs and trained a number of skilled workers. At the handover ceremony, representatives from relevant Indonesian government departments, enterprises, and related investors highly praised the efficient construction of the project, which will help Indonesia's energy transition and sustainable development. It is reported that the project will provide more than 150 million kWh of clean electricity annually, meeting the annual electricity needs of about 112,000 households, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 114,700 tons, effectively lowering local electricity costs.
Wuling Right-Hand Drive Vehicle Exports Nearing 5,500 Units
Since its debut in 2017, Wuling Motors has exported thousands of vehicles and has become an export base for multiple destination countries worldwide.
