Shopee e-commerce platform will implement new policies for product categories and management fees starting September 1, 2024. This update applies to sellers in Non-Star, Star, and Star+ categories. Under the new policy, Shopee will apply four new product categories to calculate management costs. Several product categories and subcategories originally included in Category B and Category C will be changed to Category D. Thus, after the policy takes effect, Shopee will have four categories: A, B, C, and D. Shopee's management fees range from 4.25% to 8%, calculated based on the number of products sold. For example, products in Category A, which include fashion, electronics (appliances), daily necessities, mobile phone accessories, sports & outdoor, automotive, etc., will be charged an 8% management fee. Meanwhile, the newest category, Category D, which includes computer & accessories, mobile phones & tablets, and several other categories, will be charged a 4.25% management fee.
Below are the details of the latest management fees based on product categories applicable on Shopee from September 1, 2024:
- Product Category A: 8% management fee per product sold
- Product Category B: 7.5% management fee per product sold
- Product Category C: 5.75% management fee per product sold
- Product Category D: 4.25% management fee per product sold
