Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong recently inspected the KEK JIIPE-Gresik Special Economic Zone. China is one of Indonesia's largest investment countries, with total investment reaching US$5.78 billion in the third quarter of 2024, demonstrating China's active participation and contribution to Indonesia's economic development. During the visit, the Ambassador inspected major enterprises in the zone, such as PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Hailiang New Materials Indonesia, and PT Xinyi Glass Indonesia. Xinyi Glass introduced its latest production line with a daily melting capacity of 1,100 tons, supplying high-quality glass for construction, automotive, and new energy sectors, meeting the diverse needs of the Indonesian and Southeast Asian markets. The President of the Special Economic Zone emphasized the commitment to providing an integrated industrial ecosystem. This SEZ is a strategic cooperation project between China and Indonesia, equipped with modern infrastructure and efficient logistics, offering port, high-quality infrastructure, and sustainable energy services for global investment, making it the preferred strategic production base for Chinese enterprises in Southeast Asia.
