The Batang Industrial City Special Economic Zone (KEK Industropolis Batang) in Central Java Province has partnered with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) to develop an industrial park through the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" (TCTP) project. During the unveiling ceremony of the Batang Industrial City Special Economic Zone, PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (PT KITB) signed a memorandum of understanding with CSCEC. The cooperation was witnessed by Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia. TCTP is a bilateral cooperation project started in 2021, aiming to achieve investment balance between Indonesia and China through the construction of integrated industrial parks. The cooperation includes planning and developing 500 hectares of industrial land in the Batang Industrial City Special Economic Zone, carrying out marketing cooperation to attract enterprise investment, and building a supply chain ecosystem. In the initial phase, CSCEC brings 20 Chinese enterprises, and the potential investment from this cooperation in Batang over the next five years reaches IDR 60 trillion. The TCTP project will also be implemented in the Wijayakusuma Industrial Area in Semarang and the Bintan Industrial Area in Riau Islands, which is expected to bring greater investment to the local industry. The Batang Industrial City Special Economic Zone is expected to become an economically developed region like Shenzhen in China.
