Details of 18 Downstream Processing Projects in Indonesia
President Prabowo plans to implement coal downstream processing into dimethyl ether (DME) projects in six regions: Bulungan, Kutai Timur, Kota Baru, Muara Enim, PALI, and Banyuasin. The investment for these projects amounts to IDR 164 trillion, with an expected creation of 34,800 jobs. It is also a key measure for the government to reduce dependence on liquefied petroleum gas imports. The above coal-to-DME projects are part of the government's 18 downstream processing projects, with a total investment of IDR 618.13 trillion (approximately USD 386.3 billion), and the preliminary feasibility study has been completed.
