Weda Bay Industrial Park Clarifies 'Nickel Powder Smuggling' Rumor

PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) has responded to allegations that a Chinese national attempted to smuggle nickel powder via the IWIP exclusive airport in North Maluku Province. On Friday, December 5, a Chinese national was found carrying 5 bags of mixed nickel powder and 4 bags of pure nickel powder while boarding a flight to Manado at the IWIP exclusive airport, and was arrested on the spot. In a recent written statement, IWIP management stated that the company is aware of the rumors concerning suspected unauthorized material transport at the exclusive airport, and has always complied with all transportation
