During the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai, global ICT solutions leader ZTE and Indonesia's leading telecom operator XLSMART officially signed a cooperation memorandum of understanding. The two parties will deepen strategic collaboration in three core areas—AI networks, 5G technology, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA)—to help Indonesia upgrade its intelligent communication networks, optimize service experience, explore new opportunities in the broadband market, and strengthen the foundation of Indonesia's digital ecosystem development. XLSMART was formed through the merger of three major Indonesian telecom enterprises, boasting an integrated nationwide communication network serving over 69.4 million users. As the demand for high-quality digital services in Indonesia continues to rise, intelligent and automated network upgrades have become an industry necessity, effectively optimizing resource allocation, stabilizing service quality, and empowering the development of 5G and broadband businesses—this forms the core context of the deep collaboration between the two sides.

According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will integrate their respective technological and industrial advantages to build end-to-end, full-scenario AI network capabilities, fully covering the radio access network, transport network, core network, and network operations and maintenance systems. Leveraging AI automation technology and intelligent data analysis capabilities, they will achieve real-time network status monitoring, traffic demand prediction, and dynamic resource optimization, greatly simplifying operations and maintenance processes and improving service response speed. Even during peak network usage periods, users can enjoy a stable and smooth network experience, comprehensively upgrading the digital experience for both individuals and enterprises. Notably, the two sides have already implemented an AI network energy-saving project in their earlier cooperation, achieving over 10% energy savings without compromising network performance or user experience, balancing operational efficiency with green and sustainable development goals.

In the future, both parties will continue to quantitatively evaluate core indicators such as network performance, energy consumption, and user experience, and continuously optimize technical solutions. At the same time, they will accelerate 5G technology iteration and upgrades, expand network coverage, and explore new digital service scenarios. Additionally, the cooperation will focus on promoting the commercialization of FWA services. Through network optimization, terminal innovation, and market expansion, high-speed broadband will reach more Indonesian households and enterprises, maximizing the value of 5G infrastructure and becoming a new growth engine for enterprises. Both ZTE and XLSMART stated that this cooperation aligns with Indonesia's digital infrastructure development strategy. They will continue to explore new application scenarios for AI networks, 5G, and FWA, helping Indonesia build an efficient, intelligent, and green next-generation communication network.
