PT IAP is a holding company that will operate the first and only frozen french fry factory in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, using local potato raw materials. Not only in Indonesia, PT IAP is also a pioneer in the Southeast Asian region and the only frozen french fry factory using domestic raw materials. PT IAP's Chief Director stated that everything from seeding, planting, to processing harvested potatoes into frozen french fries is done in Indonesia. Currently, 100% of frozen french fry products circulating in Indonesia are imported from abroad, with imported potatoes being repackaged under local brands. Therefore, he hopes that the operation of the PT IAP frozen french fry factory can become a milestone for Indonesia to break free from its dependence on imported frozen french fries. Currently, franchise food outlets serving french fries still rely 100% on imports, and it is hoped that in the future, with production from their factory, this dependence on imports can be reduced.
PT IAP's Director added that the company conducted a trial production run (operational test) on August 5, 2024. Those invited to attend the trial production included local government officials, religious leaders, community leaders, mass organizations, and residents around the factory. The potatoes used for the production trial were taken directly from PT IAP's greenhouse in the West Java region. The production trial showed that they are ready to begin operations this year, with hopes of being ready to sell frozen french fry products from the factory throughout Indonesia by November 2024. The production capacity of PT IAP's frozen french fry factory reaches 500 kg/hour, and the company targets to produce 300 tons of frozen french fries per month, assuming 20 working hours per day. Plans are also in place to build a similar factory with a larger capacity of 13.5 tons per hour, or 8,100 tons per month.
