Starting September 16, 2024, Tokopedia will increase merchant service fees by up to 10%, applicable to Power Merchant and Power Merchant PRO sellers (depending on product category). The service fee is charged per completed order, based on a percentage that varies by subcategory of the product sold.According to Tokopedia's official announcement, Regular Merchant sellers who changed their membership status to Power Merchant before May 1, 2024, and have more than 50 orders will be charged the Power Merchant service fee. Below is the breakdown of increases by product category: 1. Electronics: from 1% to 6.5% originally, increased to 1% to 10%; 2. Fashion items: from 4% to 6.5% originally, increased to 4.25% to 10%; 3. Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG): from 4% to 6.5% previously, increased to 4.25% to 10%
4. Home & living: from 4% to 6.5% originally, increased to 2.50% to 10%; 5. Other goods: from 1% to 6.5% originally, increased to 1% to 10%. All product subcategories with a service fee percentage of 10% will enjoy a 20% discount, so the applicable service fee percentage is 8%. The service fee is calculated based on the price of each product minus the seller's discount. Shipping costs (postage) and platform discounts are not included in the service fee calculation. Formula: Service fee = (Price per product - Seller discount) x Service fee percentage by product category. When announcing the adjustment, Tokopedia also provided a simulation example of service fees for Power Merchant and Power Merchant PRO sellers: Product: Guitar, Product price: IDR 10,000, Seller discount: IDR 1,000, Service fee percentage based on product category: 7.5%, Service fee = (10,000 IDR - 1,000 IDR) x 7.5% = 675 IDR (including tax)
