On the evening of October 12, 2024, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia, Wang Lutong, arrived in Indonesia to assume his duties and delivered a written speech at the airport. Ambassador Wang stated that he was honored to be appointed by President Xi Jinping as the 14th Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia is a beautiful "Thousand Islands" country, an important member of ASEAN, and the birthplace of the Bandung Spirit. China and Indonesia are friendly neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Indonesia relations have always maintained a high level of operation. The building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future has entered a new stage of "real picture". Political mutual trust between the two countries continues to deepen, practical cooperation yields fruitful results, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges are increasingly active. As both large developing countries and emerging market economies, the two countries share similar positions on international and regional affairs and cooperate closely, injecting stability and positive energy into the world. China will continue to support and walk hand in hand with Indonesia on the path of achieving their respective modernization and national rejuvenation, and lead the long-term stable development of bilateral relations by jointly building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future.
Ambassador Wang stated that next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, and also the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference. Against the backdrop of accelerated changes unseen in a century, China and Indonesia continuing to work together to strengthen cooperation not only serves the common interests of the two countries and their peoples but will also make new contributions to world peace, stability, development, and prosperity. At this important moment, I am honored to serve as the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia and feel a great sense of mission and responsibility. I will bear in mind the instructions, fulfill my duties, take on responsibilities, and act diligently, to be a continuator of the friendship between the two countries, a promoter of cooperation between the two countries, and a guardian of the common interests of the two peoples, striving to write a new chapter in the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership. When Ambassador Wang arrived in Jakarta, he was greeted at the airport by Chinese Embassy in Indonesia Minister Zhou Kan and other key diplomats, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Mission to ASEAN Fu Fengshan, and Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Director of Protocol Murti, among others.
