China Water Industry Group recently signed a strategic agreement with the Sidoarjo Regency Government in Indonesia for the second municipal solid waste landfill gas power generation project. Officials from both sides attended the signing ceremony, and the Deputy Regent praised the company while offering cooperation suggestions. Sidoarjo Regency has a population of approximately 2.2 million. The project will process about 700 tons of waste daily, with an expected installed capacity of 3 MW, annual power generation of approximately 24 million kWh, and carbon emission reductions of about 90,000 tons per year, enabling resource recycling and sustainable environmental development. Over the past year, the Water Industry Group has surveyed developable landfills in Indonesia, accumulated cooperation resources, and become familiar with local renewable energy regulations and project development processes. This signing is another achievement following the Semarang project. The Indonesian government has introduced multiple policies in environmental protection and renewable energy, including banning open waste dumping, adding new waste transfer stations, adjusting renewable energy electricity prices and power purchase procedures, participating in COP29, and committing to emission reductions, providing potential and momentum for project development. This signing has strengthened the Water Industry Group's confidence in developing environmental projects in Indonesia. In the future, it will increase overseas investment and promote more green energy projects, while also hoping to attract more Chinese partners to share project experience.
