The Batang Industrial Park in Central Java Province, formerly the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone, was once a wilderness. It started operations in 2022 and was upgraded to a Special Economic Zone in 2025. The Indonesian government hopes to narrow the economic gap with neighboring countries, promote industrialization, and enhance international competitiveness. The park is located at the central hub of Central Java Province on Java Island, with a comprehensive sea, land, and air transportation network that is still being improved; within a 100-kilometer radius, multiple logistics hubs gather, forming a three-dimensional logistics network that helps enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency. The Indonesian government provides preferential policies such as simplified approval processes and corporate income tax reductions for enterprises. Through the China-Indonesia "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project cooperation, the Batang Industrial Park and Fuzhou Yuanhong Investment Zone explore coordinated development. The Wanxinda Batang Industrial Park within the park is a successful example, and it also cooperates with China State Construction Group to promote the construction of the economic corridor. Currently, 27 enterprises have settled in, covering multiple fields such as electronic assembly and automobile manufacturing, with the industrial cluster effect emerging. In the future, it will be built into a comprehensive industrial new city integrating multiple functions, with complete living service facilities. Its development has also driven the surrounding urbanization process, moving towards the goal of becoming one of the "Five Major Special Economic Zones in Southeast Asia."
