A delegation from Nanning, the capital of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has just concluded a high-density visit to Indonesia aimed at deepening cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy. The two sides held a series of strategic discussions focusing on AI technology development and concrete cooperation on building a China-ASEAN AI Innovation Center. Guangxi regards Indonesia as a key partner in promoting AI development in Southeast Asia and has launched an "AI+Manufacturing" action plan. In the past two years, Guangxi has signed over 30 digital cooperation projects with ASEAN countries. Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs warmly welcomed Guangxi's initiatives, stating that China's open-source AI models such as DeepSeek meet Indonesia's needs. Since the launch of the 2020-2045 National AI Strategy, Indonesia has been steadily advancing on the path of digital transformation, providing ample room for deepening cooperation with Guangxi. The Director of Guangxi's Information Center stressed the importance of jointly building a China-Indonesia AI Innovation Center, making Indonesia an engine for AI development in ASEAN.
