Europe invests in floating solar power plant in Indonesia

The Government of Indonesia and the international partners of the Partnership for a Just Energy Transition formally signed a definitive financing agreement for the Saguling floating solar power plant project.The main signatories include project developer PT Indo ACWA Tenaga Saguling, PLN Indonesia Power, German Investment and Development GmbH, Proparco of France, Standard Chartered Bank of the United Kingdom, and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Indonesia. Through this signing, Indonesia received an investment of USD 60 million (about Rp 1 trillion) for the construction of the project. The investment funds will be provided by DEG (Germany), PROPARCO (France) and Standard Chartered Bank, covering the project development, construction and operation phases. The project is not only a solar power project, but also symbolizes multi-party cooperation to promote energy transition and sustainable economic development. Located in West Java, the project has an installed capacity of 92 MW and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by at least 63,100 tons per year, as well as increase Indonesia's solar power generation by approximately 131 TP3 T. He thanked the international investors and financial institutions for their support, and the Ambassador of France to Indonesia was also present at the signing ceremony, indicating that France has been an active supporter of the Indonesian energy transition, and that France's financing demonstrates its innovative renewable energy development in Indonesia.
