Chinese car brands post strong sales in Indonesia in April

The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (IAA) released auto sales data for April 2025, with wholesale sales of only 51,025 units in the month, down 27.81 TP3T from 70,895 units in the previous month, the worst record for the first four months of the year, including 40,333 units of passenger cars and 10,872 units of commercial vehicles.Cumulative wholesale sales for January-April 2025 totaled 256,368 units. Toyota holds the top spot with 16,077 units sold, followed by Daihatsu with 8,884 units and Suzuki with 4,145 units. BYD rounded out the top five with 3,496 units and is currently selling electric cars only in Indonesia. Hyundai is in ninth place with 1607 units sold, behind Isuzu and Chery. wholesale car sales by month for January-April 2025 were 61,932 units in January, 72,336 units in February, 70,895 units in March and 51,205 units in April.
