Guangdong and Indonesian entrepreneurs strengthen cooperation and exchange

The first local assembly plant in Purwakarta, West Java, established by Chinese automotive brand GAC Aion in partnership with local Indonesian distributor Indomobil Group, officially commenced production on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 ...The initial plan is to produce 20,000 vehicles per year, with plans to increase the capacity to 50,000 vehicles per year over the next few years. The plant utilizes the "lighthouse factory" concept, which applies intelligent and environmentally friendly manufacturing systems with the latest technology and integrated production systems. It will also utilize advanced manufacturing systems already in use at the Chinese plant, and will be able to assemble a wide range of models from sedans to multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs). The first model, Aion V, is the latest electric vehicle, which was launched in November 2024 for the Indonesian market. Subsequent models such as the Aion Y Plus and Hyptec HT will soon be assembled locally. The products are not only for the Indonesian domestic market, but will also be export-oriented in the future. Although the plant just opened on June 10, assembly has already begun in the past few weeks, with 500 Aion V units delivered to consumers as of early June.
