Three key industrial parks of the Binational Twin Parks Program

The Ministry of Economic Coordination of Indonesia facilitated the signing of two strategic memorandums of understanding with China focusing on strengthening industrial and supply chain cooperation and the implementation of the Bi-National Dual Park project, which was concluded during the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister to Indonesia.The key zones include Batang Integrated Industrial Zone: covering an area of about 500 hectares, it aims to become the "Indonesian version of Shenzhen", modeled on the development of Shenzhen's industrial zones. Bintan Industrial Zone: Located in the Riau Islands, it is planned to be modeled on the industrial zones in Fujian Province to form industrial synergies. As well as the unnamed third park, a total of three industrial zones are included in the cooperation framework. The project will attract foreign investment inflows, with the initial development investment in the Batang zone expected to reach US$300 million, while investment in other zones is still underway; create employment opportunities and directly boost Indonesia's economic growth; strengthen the supply chain connection between the two countries and enhance Indonesia's participation in the global industrial chain; and promote the modernization of Indonesia's industries and the development of industrial clusters through the transfer of technology and experience from the Chinese side. The Economic Coordination Minister said that the government will continue to monitor the implementation of the project to ensure that the cooperation benefits both countries in the long term, especially in terms of industrial competitiveness and regional economic integration.
