U.S. tariff rate on Indonesian goods reduced to 19%

The U.S. reduced tariffs on Indonesian exports to 191 TP3T from 321 TP3T, making it one of the lower tariffs in ASEAN.According to a July 16, 2025 report by the Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) of Bank Mandiri Indonesia, tariffs on ASEAN exports to the United States vary among ASEAN countries, with Laos and Myanmar topping the list with tariffs of 401 TP3T, Cambodia and Thailand at 361 TP3T, Malaysia at 251 TP3T, Vietnam and the Philippines at 201 TP3T each, Indonesia at 191 TP3T, and Singapore is the lowest at 10%.U.S. President Donald Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo directly negotiated the agreement in question. Trump said the U.S. will get full access to Indonesian copper and other products without paying tariffs, something that has never been done before.The reduction of Indonesia's tariffs on exports to the US to 191 TP3T is good news, making it one of the lower tariffs in ASEAN, the bank's chief economist said.
