Singapore Continues to Expand Investment in Indonesia's Green Energy Industry

Singapore's Temasek Holdings (Temasek) continues to expand its investment footprint in Indonesia across a wide range of sectors, including green energy, healthcare, telecommunications and retail, with the full support of the Indonesian government.On July 18, 2025, the Indonesian Minister of Economic Integration and Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) chairman, and Temasek board members met in Jakarta. The two sides discussed the potential for cooperation between Temasek and the Indonesian New Energy Authority (BPI Danantara), support for Indonesia's energy transition and the development of green industrial zones, among other topics. Temasek has a long history of investing in Indonesia, through its subsidiaries and strategic investment programs, with four listed companies closely associated with the Temasek portfolio. Temasek's global investment portfolio is worth more than US$280 billion, and Indonesia is its core market in Southeast Asia, where it will continue to expand its existing investments and explore new collaborations in the future. Indonesia said that Temasek has made significant contributions to Indonesia's economic development through venture capital investments and capital injections into startups, and that the government is willing to open up new cooperation space through Danantara or cooperation with state-owned enterprises. Singapore said that Indonesia is an important partner in the development of Temasek's portfolio and will continue to expand its investment in Indonesia. Both sides will focus on sustainable development areas, including green energy, telecommunications, etc., in line with its long-term growth strategy.
