After discussions and a factory tour, the two sides reached a preliminary strategic consensus on full industry chain cooperation in new energy vehicles and will subsequently initiate project preliminary research and planning. The discussions covered multiple dimensions of establishing Indonesia's new energy vehicle industry, including overseas factory layout, joint development of core technologies, power battery industry chain construction, local skilled talent cultivation, and Southeast Asian market export planning. The Indonesian delegation stated that the country has abundant nickel ore reserves and huge growth potential in the new energy vehicle market, but its local vehicle supporting industry system is weak, urgently requiring the introduction of external automakers to drive the complete industry chain upgrade.rnrnBased on Indonesia's resources and industrial status, Zotye Auto proposed a phased cooperation plan. Phase one adopts a semi-knocked-down (SKD) assembly model to achieve rapid production, while steadily increasing local parts localization rate. Phase two plans to build a smart factory with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, covering the four major manufacturing processes of stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly, along with a power battery production line, simultaneously producing passenger new energy vehicles, urban logistics electric vehicles, and electric pickup trucks. Additionally, Zotye proposed plans to export a complete set of R&D, production, and quality control management systems to Indonesia, while introducing domestic upstream and downstream supply chain resources to build a localized supporting service system integrating sales, maintenance, and talent training.rnrnHowever, the above content represents only preliminary cooperation intentions and no formal agreement has been finalized. The delegation visited Zotye's new energy production workshops, prototype vehicle trial production lines, and parts inspection areas, fully observing the four major manufacturing processes, and focusing on economical household electric vehicles and urban logistics new energy models suitable for the Southeast Asian market. Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication, steadily advance project preliminary preparations, and continuously explore extended cooperation opportunities in the lithium battery industry and cross-border trade. The parties specifically noted that only an oral preliminary consensus was reached, and no formal cooperation documents were signed.
