BYD Indonesia recently participated in the 2026 GIIAS Indonesia International Auto Show. As a complete vehicle manufacturer, BYD showcased multiple of its main models launched in Indonesia. During the first week of the show, BYD Indonesia's Public and Government Relations Director revealed that the company has set an order target for this exhibition that surpasses last year's performance. At the 2025 GIIAS, BYD secured 4,200 purchase orders (SPK). With the debut of the new BYD M6 DM model, the company is confident of achieving further breakthroughs in orders at this year's show. The new BYD M6 DM, equipped with DM dual-mode technology and targeting Indonesia's family MPV market, has received an enthusiastic market response.
During the ten-day exhibition, this model secured 850 orders, accounting for more than 20% of BYD's total 4,250 orders at the show. The cumulative new orders for this locally assembled MPV model reached 3,200 units. In an official statement, BYD Indonesia's Managing Director stated that the high market interest in the BYD M6 DM proves that DM dual-mode technology is highly suitable for the needs of Indonesian families. DM technology can meet current mobility demands, balancing practicality, ride comfort, energy efficiency, and usage flexibility. The immense popularity was also reflected in the test drive area.
At this year's GIIAS, over 105,000 visitors came to the BYD booth, of which more than 700 participated in on-site test drives, with 60% of test drivers choosing to experience the BYD M6, covering both the DM plug-in hybrid version and the pure electric version. BYD Indonesia stated that the impressive results at the 2026 GIIAS confirm the continuously rising demand for new energy vehicles among Indonesians. Consumers not only recognize BYD's complete vehicles but also embrace the core technologies and unique driving experience the brand offers, laying a solid foundation for BYD's continued expansion of electrified models in the Indonesian market.
