Sinar Mas and Korea Investment Real Asset Management are collaborating to build a data center in Indonesia, establishing a joint venture with a project value of KRW 400 billion (IDR 4.6 trillion). According to a KED Global report, the two companies will inject KRW 70 billion (IDR 810 billion) from a joint venture called Kuningan Mas Gemilang, specifically for Korean investment in real assets, securing funds by utilizing external investors. The two companies will also raise KRW 260 billion (IDR 3 trillion) in the third quarter of 2025.
The data center will be built in the Menteng Atas area of Setiabudi, Jakarta, on a prepared land area of 8,516 square meters. The building will have 11 floors with a total gross floor area of 44,195 square meters. The land for constructing the 18 MW data center has been acquired, and the two companies are currently submitting approval documents to the relevant authorities. The same report indicates that the data center construction is planned to be completed by 2027. In addition, Korea Investment is also discussing with Sinar Mas the construction of an additional data center in Indonesia, not only to build it but also to operate it. Previously, Sinar Mas also collaborated with LG CNS on a data center, partnering with a Korean data center operator to manage data centers for corporate clients and provide cloud storage services.
