PT PLN Enjiniring, a subsidiary of Indonesia's state electricity company PT PLN (Persero), has entered into a cross-border cooperation with the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute to strengthen Indonesia's national power system, accelerate energy transition, and promote environmentally friendly technology development. The two parties formalized the partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. The President Director of PLN stated that this collaboration is a concrete step to promote the utilization of new and renewable energy in Indonesia and is crucial for ensuring the application of efficient, modern, and sustainable technologies, highlighting PLN Group's strategic role in the energy transition, including power system planning and the development of renewable energy power generation projects. The cooperation not only involves power infrastructure construction but also emphasizes the enhancement of human resource capabilities, focusing on capacity building through the formation of joint working teams and collaborative development of technical documentation. The cooperation covers knowledge transfer, technical discussions, benchmarking analysis, as well as the development of flexible system planning strategies and variable renewable energy penetration. The partnership will consolidate PT PLN Enjiniring's excellence in the power engineering field, enhance its adaptability and competitiveness, and it has stated it will continue to expand its global network, strengthening its key role in Indonesia's energy infrastructure construction. The Chairman of China Energy Engineering Group highly praised this cooperation, expressing willingness to support collaboration in energy storage systems and sustainable battery technology development through the contributions of experts and engineers, with the expectation of achieving efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly solutions that bring technical and strategic benefits to both sides. PLN is currently preparing its latest electricity supply business plan, in which renewable energy power generation projects account for a significant proportion. Therefore, such international cooperation is crucial for absorbing global technology and building domestic technological advantages.
