China, Indonesia promote cooperation in renewable energy

PT PLN Enjiniring, a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), has entered into a multinational collaboration with China General Electric Power Planning and Design Institute (CGEPDI) to strengthen Indonesia's national power system, accelerate energy transition and promote environmentally friendly technologies.The cooperation was entered into through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).PLN's Managing Director said that the cooperation is a tangible initiative to promote the utilization of new and renewable energy sources in Indonesia, and that it is essential to ensure the application of efficient, modern, and sustainable technologies, underscoring PLN Group's strategic role in the energy transition, including power system planning and the development of EBT power generation projects. The cooperation not only covers power infrastructure development, but also focuses on human resource capacity enhancement, with emphasis on capacity building through the formation of joint working teams and joint development of technical documentation. Collaboration projects cover knowledge transfer, technical discussions, benchmarking analysis, and development of flexible system planning strategies and variable renewable energy penetration. The cooperation will consolidate PT PLN Enjiniring's preeminent position in power engineering and enhance its adaptability and competitiveness, and indicated that it will continue to expand its global network and strengthen its key role in Indonesia's energy infrastructure development.
