In a coordination meeting chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the government announced the launch of economic stimulus policies in the second quarter of 2025. This is because major holidays such as Christmas and New Year have passed, weakening their pull on consumption, while school holidays and the 13th-month salary payment present key opportunities to stimulate consumption. The aim is to maintain economic growth in the second quarter at around 5%. The six policies include transportation discounts: 30% off train tickets during the school holiday period from early June to mid-July 2025; 6% PPN DTP reduction on airfare; 50% off ferry tickets. Toll road discounts: Approximately 110 million drivers can enjoy a 20% discount on toll fees during the two-month school holiday period, implemented in the same pattern as discounts during Eid al-Fitr and Christmas. Electricity discounts: Approximately 79.3 million households (with electricity consumption ≤ 1300 VA) will receive a 50% discount on electricity bills from June 5 to July 31, 2025, following the same execution model as the electricity discount program in January-February 2025. Enhanced social assistance and food aid: Approximately 18.3 million poor households will receive an additional IDR 200,000 per month in basic necessities card subsidies for two consecutive months; each household will receive 10 kg of rice. Wage subsidy assistance: Approximately 17 million workers earning no more than IDR 3.5 million per month or the local minimum wage, as well as 3.4 million substitute teachers, will receive a monthly subsidy of IDR 150,000 from June to July 2025, paid in a lump sum in June. Extension of work accident insurance premium discounts: From August 2025 to January 2026, premiums for workers in labor-intensive industries will continue to enjoy a 50% discount.
