Indonesian Ambassador to China Zhou Hao Li recently attended the Chinese Enterprises Going Overseas Forum event, said that China's investment in Indonesia in various fields is growing exponentially every year, reaching $8.1 billion in 2024, compared to about $800 million in 2014.China is Indonesia's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade valued at $147.8 billion in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 6.11 TP3T, of which Chinese exports amounted to $76.7 billion (a year-on-year increase of 17.61 TP3T) and imports $71.1 billion (a year-on-year decrease of 41 TP3T).China is the second largest source of foreign investment in Indonesia, and Indonesia is the second largest destination for Chinese investment in ASEAN. He called for more Chinese companies to come into Indonesia, not only to invest, but also to grow, learn from each other, and work together to build solutions. The areas of cooperation are focused on renewable energy, electric vehicle ecosystem, connectivity, agricultural technology, health industry, digital economy, and vocational training. He also believes that globalization remains important and should not be a homogenizing force, but rather a bridge that respects diversity and promotes inclusive cooperation. Enterprises need to "go global" based on local realities, and true and lasting success comes from the ability to understand local dynamics, listen, adapt and create value with local communities.
