Indonesia pesticide enterprise factory officially put into use

印尼农药企业工厂正式投产使用

PT Delta Giri Wacana Tbk (DGWG) has officially inaugurated the carbamate plant at the Modern Industrial Estate in Xilang, Banten province, which covers an area of 4.5 hectares and is the third plant of the DGW Group, with the first two being the NPK Fertilizer Plant in Graysic and the agrochemical Preparation and Plastic Covering Plant at the same location.Construction will begin in 2023 with an investment of US$20 million, with an initial capacity of 2,000 metric tons of active ingredient per year, and a capacity of approximately 5,000 metric tons per year when made into pesticides, with plans to increase capacity to 15,000 metric tons per year within three years. The facility is fully equipped with production areas, laboratories, filling and packaging facilities, warehouses, waste disposal facilities, and sports and clinic facilities. The CEO said the inauguration is a historic milestone for DGWG and a tangible contribution to the country's food security and the independence of the agro-chemical industry, aiming to meet the domestic market demand and tap the export potential. The director said that the launch of the business line is a realization of the resolution of the extraordinary general meeting to be held on June 23, 2025, after the company has incorporated the agrochemical active ingredient industry in its articles of association. The domestic pesticide market, valued at Rp16.4 trillion with a CAGR of 10%, is expected to reach Rp25.4 trillion in 2028, which is the strategic basis for DGWG to expand its agrochemical upstream business. The business plans to transform itself from a distributor of agricultural inputs to a domestic producer of pesticide active ingredients, aiming to become a strategic partner for Indonesian farmers and strengthen its position in the global agrochemical supply chain.
