Chinese Investors Actively Invest in Halal Industrial Parks in Indonesia

The Indonesian government says Chinese investors have lined up to invest in the Halal Industrial Park (KIH) in Sikang, East Java, mainly in the areas of halal gelatine, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, such as Chinese investor AminBio, which focuses on halal gelatine production, and Zhong Tou Investment, which focuses on halal pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.The realization of investments in this Halal Special Economic Zone still requires the approval of President Prabowo, and the Ministry of Economic Coordination has submitted drafts of the relevant government regulations with the expectation that approval will be completed as soon as possible.

Xijiang Halal Industrial Park isOne of four halal industrial parks in IndonesiaThe other three are located inBintan in the Riau Archipelago, Cikander in Banten, and Jababeka in the Jakarta Bekasi region of West Java.

Seokgang Park covers an area of 796.65 hectares, of which 59.49% (473.96 hectares) has been granted a certificate of building use right. Seokgang Halal Industrial Park'sCommitted investment amounted to 97.8 trillion rupiahs, which has now realized about 451 billion guilders;which is expected to create 317,670 jobs over 30 years.Currently employing about 800 people.. Indonesia is expected to utilize the park to produce halal versions of its products, with target markets including Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE; it is expected to contribute Rp 844 billion per year to the Gross Regional Product (GRP) of Sijang regency and Rp 8.5 trillion to East Java province.
