Indonesia's ambassador says India-China economic and trade cooperation has great prospects

The year 2025 will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, and Indonesian Ambassador to China Zhou Hao Li recently said that economic and trade cooperation between Indonesia and China continues to be good and promising.Indonesia welcomes high-quality investments from Chinese companies in Indonesia's mining, agriculture and fisheries, digital trade, and smart logistics. In an interview, he quoted the Chinese idiom "in the same boat" as an analogy for the relationship between China and Indonesia: "We are in the same boat together, our river is constantly changing, and if we row rhythmically, we will reach the other side of the river forever." Statistics show thatChina is Indonesia's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade valued at $147.8 billion in 2024, up 6.1%.

China is the second largest source of foreign investment in Indonesia and Indonesia is the second largest destination for Chinese investment in ASEAN."Our partnership has achieved a lot, and the future will be judged not only by the volume of trade and investment, but also by quality." Zhou Hao Li said.Indonesia and China should work together to promote sustainable development so that factories, farms, ports and startups in both countries can benefit.
