Nanshan Aluminum recently announced that it will increase its electrolytic aluminum production capacity in Indonesia. It plans to establish PT. HEAI through a joint venture between its wholly-owned subsidiary Shengshi Asia and Hong Kong Shengshi Aluminum, to build a project with an annual output of 250,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum in Indonesia's Bintan Industrial Park. The total project investment is approximately US$437 million (equivalent to approximately RMB 3.056 billion), with an estimated construction period of 2 years. After the project is implemented, Nanshan Aluminum's electrolytic aluminum production capacity in Indonesia will increase from the current 250,000 tons to 500,000 tons, achieving deep synergy with the local alumina production line. The company stated that the project leverages Indonesia's alumina resource endowment and cost advantages, effectively enabling cost reduction and efficiency improvement, broadening profit margins, and serving as an important part of its medium- and long-term development plan for overseas markets. The project's products are initially planned as aluminum liquid, mainly supplied to Southeast Asian downstream processing enterprises, while also catering to primary aluminum ingot production and the company's own business needs, with a reach covering Southeast Asian markets. Currently, Nanshan Aluminum has a deep presence on Bintan Island. Its subsidiary Nanshan Aluminum International has an annual alumina production capacity of 4 million tons, with the latest production line having started operations last month, providing stable and low-cost raw material support for the electrolytic aluminum project and opening up the "alumina - electrolytic aluminum" upstream and downstream industry chain. In addition, the company owns two 35,000-ton-class docks on Bintan Island, where bauxite transportation costs are much lower than those in China. The project's industrial park has been designated as the Karang Bahang Special Economic Zone, allowing the company to enjoy tax incentives. With multiple cost advantages, Nanshan Aluminum's Indonesia electrolytic aluminum project showcases strong competitiveness.According to disclosures, the company's overall planned electrolytic aluminum production capacity in Indonesia is 1 million tons, indicating considerable long-term growth potential.
