The Upland Subang Farm Producer Cooperative (Koperasi Produsen Upland Subang Farm) successfully exported 3 tons of mangosteen to China, adding to the 40 tons previously exported by the cooperative, achieving sustained breakthroughs. This export took place during the Ramadan period, bringing positive benefits to the cooperative and local fruit farmers.
The Minister of Cooperatives stated that this achievement is inseparable from the long-term guidance provided by the agricultural department to mangosteen farmers in Subang. With government support, local farmers formed a cooperative, carried out standardized processing and certification of their products, and ultimately succeeded in opening up the international market.
Subang Regency has also previously succeeded in exporting coffee to Algeria, becoming one of the model regions for Indonesian agricultural exports. To further support cooperative development, the Indonesian Cooperative Revolving Fund Management Agency (LPDB Koperasi) will provide total funding of IDR 20 billion, with an initial disbursement of IDR 4.9 billion.
The funds will be used for production expansion, quality improvement, and market development, accompanied by corresponding incubation and mentoring mechanisms.
The head of LPDB emphasized that the agency will continue to provide financing support for production-oriented cooperatives, especially those with high economic multiplier effects in export agriculture. In addition to funding, LPDB will also assist cooperatives in improving governance structures and management operations, driving them toward professionalization and sustainable upgrading.
The Minister hopes that this mangosteen export during Ramadan will bring greater welfare to the cooperative, fruit farmers, and the people of Subang, and serve as a new starting point for local agricultural products to enter the international market.
