General Association of Indonesian Chinese
The General Association of Chinese Indonesians (Indonesian: Perhimpunan Indonesia Tionghoa) was established on April 10, 1999 as one of the largest Chinese associations in Indonesia. The purpose of the organization is to fight for the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese Indonesians, to promote ethnic integration and to foster the harmonious development of Indonesian society.
Organizational structure
National organization: The General Association of Indonesian Chinese has branches in 16 provinces throughout Indonesia, and the number of district and city branches reaches 90. In addition, it has a board of directors and supervisors with nearly 1,000 members.

3. In March 2024, the Hainan Office of the Indonesian Chinese General Association was established to further promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia.
4. On May 6, 2025, the Jiangmen Office in Guangdong Province was established.
Main activities and achievements
Fighting for rights and interests:The General Association of Chinese Indonesians has actively promoted the Indonesian Government's adoption of the 2006 Law on Nationality and the 2008 Anti-Discrimination Law, which repealed discriminatory provisions against the Chinese.
Social services:The Society organizes a number of social service projects, including sponsoring non-Chinese students to study in China, providing free surgeries for cataract patients, and participating in post-disaster reconstruction, covering 14 provinces and 52 districts and cities in Indonesia.
Cultural exchanges:The General Association of Indonesian Chinese is committed to promoting cultural exchanges between Indonesia and China, and since 2017, it has been cooperating with Guangdong Province in sports and education exchanges.2025 In March, the General Association of Indonesian Chinese officially set up the "Indonesia-China Culture and Tourism Exchange Center," aiming to deepen the cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture and tourism.
Chinese language education:The Society actively promotes the development of Chinese language education and helps Chinese Indonesians learn Chinese through a free college scholarship program to China.

The establishment and development of the Indonesian Chinese General Association has significantly increased the political influence of the Chinese in Indonesia. As of 2023, the number of Chinese members of Indonesian Parliament has increased to 13. In addition, the Association promotes multicultural integration in Indonesian society by organizing various activities.
