Indonesia and France enter into bilateral cooperation in various fields

Indonesian President Prabowo and French President Macron held a bilateral meeting at the Palace of Independence in Jakarta with the participation of many members of the delegation.At the end of the meeting, the two Presidents witnessed the signing, presentation and publication of 21 documents of agreement covering a wide range of areas such as joint declarations, intergovernmental cooperation, inter-agency cooperation, corporate cooperation and central bank-to-central bank cooperation. The two sides first adopted four Joint Declarations covering the development of the Indo-French Strategic Partnership 2050, the strategy in the field of culture, the issue of peace in Palestine and the Joint Declaration of the two Presidents, reflecting the convergence of the two countries' long term visions and their common contribution to peace and cultural development in the world. A total of 10 agreements were signed on intergovernmental cooperation in key areas such as diplomatic capacity enhancement, protection of classified defense information, strategic defense, agriculture, key minerals and metals, sustainable forestry, creative economy, culture, disaster risk management and transportation, promoting collaboration between the two countries in multiple areas. There is only one inter-institutional cooperation, namely the Indonesian Equestrian Association (IEA) and a number of renowned equestrian organizations in France on the development of the horse sport ecosystem to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of equestrianism. Five strategic partnerships were also showcased, including cooperation between the National Nutrition Agency and Danone on nutritional improvement, cooperation between relevant Indonesian institutions and French companies on key minerals, solar and battery energy storage projects, yeast production facility expansion, and the East Indonesia Green Hydrogen Project in the areas of livelihood, energy and food security. The Central Bank of Indonesia and the Central Bank of France have entered into cooperation to further strengthen the ties between the two countries in the financial sector and provide strong support for bilateral economic cooperation.
