Chinese-funded spice company invests in plant in Indonesia

Chinese food spice maker Huabao Flavors Co. has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a food seasoning factory in the Jabababeka Industrial Estate in Bekasi, West Java, which will serve as its base for the Southeast Asian market.With this project, Warburg aims to strengthen the localization of product development, customer service and operational coordination to fuel high-quality growth in Southeast Asia. The new plant will integrate manufacturing, R&D and office functions, targeting markets including Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. Founded in 1996, Warburg produces a wide range of food seasonings, beverage flavors and fragrance products, and its Indonesian subsidiary, Warburg Food Technology, has been in existence since 2021. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony, the Indonesian Food and Beverage Manufacturers Association and the Indonesian Fragrance Association expressed their appreciation for Warburg's investment in Indonesia, which will support the development of local industries. Representatives of the Bekasi regency government said the establishment of the new factory will help reduce the number of local unemployed, and the local government also promised to find suitable labor for the company.
