Chinese Firms Start Construction of Indonesia PV Module Manufacturing Project

Chinese solar energy company LONGi Green Energy and Pertamina NRE, a new energy company under the umbrella of Indonesia's National Electricity Corporation (Pertamina), have launched the construction of the Indonesia Advanced Photovoltaic Module Manufacturing Base project, which is located in Deltamas, West Java province. The annual production capacity is expected to reach 1.6 GW, using LONGi's state-of-the-art HPBC 2.0 high-efficiency cell technology to produce high-performance solar modules, with a planned start-up date of June 2025 to prepare for production. The project can enhance Indonesia's local manufacturing capacity and localization of high-efficiency PV products, and meet the growing demand for high-quality PV modules in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It will also help Indonesia realize the target of 17.1GW of new PV installations over the next ten years in the Electricity Supply Business Plan 2025-2034, accelerate energy transition and green development, and create more green jobs for the local community. It will also promote the large-scale application and development of renewable energy in Southeast Asia and drive the energy transition process in the region. The Vice President of LONGi Green Energy said that Indonesia has great potential in the field of renewable energy, and LONGi is honored to participate in its transformation process. This project signifies the determination to cooperate with Indonesian partners for a long time and promote the development of clean energy, and will reduce the cost of electricity, promote technological innovation and help Indonesia move towards a net-zero future with BC technology.
