Indonesia Introduces 50 National Strategic Highway Projects to Investors

The Minister of Public Works has announced that 50 Strategic Projects of the Nation (PSN) road projects will be promoted to investors through the government-business partnership (KPBU) model.These projects include inter-regional toll roads and are intended to contribute to the development of the national transportation network. The projects cover a number of provinces, including off the island of JavaSumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Baliand other areas.

Some of the key projects include Banten ProvinceSerang-Panimbang Highway, East Java Pandaan-Malang Highway, North Sulawesi Manado-Bitung Highway, and East Kalimantan Balikpapan-Samarinda Highwayetc. The investment mechanism is based on a public-private partnership (3P) model, but not all projects are equally attractive to investors.

The Government indicated that the projects would promote regional connectivity and economic development.
