The Depok City Government announced that it will build a
waste processing plant with a daily capacity of 1,000 tons at the
Cipayung Final Landfill (TPA Cipayung) to ease the local waste processing burden and reduce dependence on the
Nambo Waste Processing Plant (TPPAS Nambo).
The Acting Head of the Depok City Environment and Cleanliness Agency stated that the city government is currently advancing cooperation with partner
PT BSA, and the two parties have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and are currently in the stage of
drafting a formal Cooperation Agreement (PKS).
To ensure the project proceeds
in compliance, the municipal government is coordinating with the
Ministry of Home Affairs on regional and third-party cooperation (KSDPKC), and will communicate with the
Ministry of Environment regarding equipment usage, especially regarding the subsequent
export of waste-derived products.
At the same time, the agency has submitted relevant documents to the
City Council and invited
scholars from the University of Indonesia (UI) to evaluate the
waste processing service fee (tipping fee) proposed by the partner, assessing whether the tariff is reasonable.
Project Timeline
- Target to complete the signing of the cooperation agreement by the end of February 2026
- After Eid al-Fitr (early May) to hold the groundbreaking ceremony
- Construction period is expected to take 6 months, with completion in October 2026
- Trial operation in 2026, with full operation in 2027
The head of the agency emphasized that the project will adhere to the principles of
prudence and comprehensiveness, advancing steadily under the premise of
compliance and reasonableness, without neglecting key steps in pursuit of progress. Once completed, the waste processing plant will become a
key infrastructure for solving Depok's waste problem.
