Detailed Introduction

Introduction:

The Indonesia China Business Council (ICBC) is a special member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). It was established on June 6, 2002, with approval from former KADIN Chairman Aburizal Bakrie (now Coordinating Minister in the United Indonesia Cabinet). The main mission of the ICBC is to promote exchanges and cooperation between entrepreneurs from Indonesia and China, and to enhance commercial, investment, and industrial activities between the two countries.

Objectives of the Indonesia China Business Council:

1. To bring together enterprises and entrepreneurs to foster mutual understanding, cooperation, and promote economic relations between Indonesia and China (including Hong Kong and Macau).
To strengthen comprehensive and constructive economic cooperation between enterprises and entrepreneurs in both countries in areas such as trade, investment, industry, agriculture, transportation, tourism, real estate, mining, natural gas, and information technology.
To develop small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives through training, enabling mutually beneficial cooperation with large enterprises for win-win outcomes.

Plans of the Indonesia China Business Council:

Establish business interconnection networks both domestically and inte ationally.
Cooperate with Chinese businesses to proactively face challenges of free trade and the new century.
Set up a business information center to address free trade challenges.
Conduct communication, consultations, participation, and enhance cooperation to improve trade, industry, investment, and services between Indonesia and China.
Build business exchanges between the two countries.
Provide training and services to members regarding enterprise development and legal issues to the extent possible.
Organize business seminars involving central and local enterprises, as well as Indonesian and Chinese enterprises.
Organize lectures, traditional arts exhibitions, and other events as much as possible.

Tasks to be Implemented:

1. Establish ICBC branches nationwide and select overseas representatives to strengthen collective spirit and implementation facilities.
2. Enhance exchanges and cooperation between Indonesian and Chinese entrepreneurs as much as possible, promoting the development of both economies through business exchanges, business seminars, and business tourism activities.
3. Provide training for SME entrepreneurs and cooperatives to improve business management through such training.
4. Conduct surveys and establish business centers, and organize exhibitions in both countries as feasible.
5. Facilitate mutual business and tourism exchanges between Indonesia and China.

Membership Conditions and Methods:

1. Those eligible to become members of the Indonesia China Business Council include:

Indonesian entrepreneurs—whether individuals, companies, or units engaged in regular business activities and established in accordance with the constitution—can become ordinary members.
Foreign entrepreneurs or foreign-invested entities engaging in economic and trade exchanges with China can become special members of the ICBC.

Membership Procedure:

1. Submit an application at the nearest ICBC office (central or local branch); foreign members may fill out the relevant membership form.
2. The joining fee is IDR 500,000, with a monthly membership fee of IDR 100,000, or an annual fee of IDR 1,200,000.

Membership Status:

Indonesian individuals or enterprises who become ordinary members have equal voting rights. Foreign individuals or enterprises may become special members.

Member Rights:

Direct access to domestic and inte ational business networks;
Obtain information on domestic and inte ational investment opportunities;
Benefit from training processes that help develop professional business management;
Expand markets through exhibitions, business seminars, study tours, etc.;
Facilitate development in business, industry, investment, services, and other economic activities domestically and inte ationally;
Receive information and data obtained by the council from domestic and inte ational banking institutions;
Utilize the council's services for tax consulting, immigration affairs, notary services, etc.;
Provide input on bilateral matters through the Chinese Embassy and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN);
