PT IMG Sejahtera Langgeng, a subsidiary of PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk, has signed a cooperation agreement with China FAW Group Import and Export Co., Ltd. Under the agreement, IMGSL will be responsible for the distribution of complete vehicles and parts for Hongqi vehicles in Indonesia, including after-sales services. The Hongqi brand was launched in 1958 and has served as the official car for Chinese leaders and state events, symbolizing China's automotive industry. In the late 1970s, it transitioned to market orientation, and after launching a new design strategy in 2018, its sales and global exports have gradually increased. In April 2025, Hongqi announced its global expansion plan, aiming to enter over 100 countries and regions within five years and establish 1,000 sales and service outlets. It plans to build five overseas hub clusters in Southeast Asia, Europe, Latin America, and other regions, along with local low-carbon R&D centers, supply chains, and operations centers. The goal is to achieve an annual overseas production capacity of over 200,000 vehicles and create more than 20,000 upstream and downstream jobs. Leveraging three major technology platforms—electric "Tiangong," hybrid "Honghu," and intelligent "Jiuzhang"—it plans to launch over 20 new models globally, aiming to become a globally recognized symbol of Eastern culture. It currently has 18 models covering fuel vehicles, pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and range-extended vehicles. In 2024, it achieved its seventh consecutive year of sales growth, with annual sales reaching 411,777 units.
